    Euro 2003 CD stacker error

    Hi guys,

I own a 2003 Euro and just yesterday the CD stacker stopped working. It just comes up with "error" and will not let me eject/load cd's. The stereo works i.e. radio.

I've read over some of the topics with issues regarding using burnt cd's causing the jam, and don't believe this is the problem as I've used cd-r's for 5yr without a hitch.

Question is, has anyone come across this "error" problem before and can it be fixed without taking it to a dealership and getting charged through the nose to fix it.

ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Chris

It's not just CDR i had legit cds in there too and it got stuck. (They just put the blame on using CDR so they can try and worm there way out of repairing it for free).
Lucky enough it was within warranty so they replaced the unit.

It's with the mechanism inside that jams up, they will replace the whole HU since it's in 1 piece.

(someone can correct me if i am wrong again)

Is this something that can be fixed manually by taking the unit out and tinkering around or do you think it needs to be replaced. (my warranty expired so would like to do this as cheaply as possible...

It'll cost you some $$$.Go to service dept.and get them to at least diagnose the problem.i believe you can get a reconditioned unit from Honda. Not sure of the price though.

I got my whole unit replaced twice at no cost by a Honda dealer when I had this error.

They advised me it was a known error and that they actually give a 7 year warranty on the unit (i'm not sure if that is specific to this issue or all issues).

The dealer didn't charge to check out the problem, I just took it there on my lunch break at work. They got back to me a few days later, ordered the part in from interstate, and swapped the whole thing over under warranty.

I have an 03 also, and this was last year.

They even mailed my burnt cd's back to the dealer for me which were stuck in the unit.

    I hope that helps.
