Hey Chris yeah I did DIY on the old ones but somehow water started leaking into them and it burnt the bulbs twice!

Not sure why it's happening and it was taking too much effort to drain/dry/fix/seal them from the inside so I went with some new ones.

Will run some water over them later this evening (getting alarm installed in my car!) to see if it happens again. If it does, I'd be stumped fo sho!

Interesting, i dont see how cutting a hole on the INSIDE of the light could let water in hey man. How annoying.

Beside the bottom part lighting up, are there any other differences between the EK9 and EK1 tail light? There both physically identical from the outside?

@ Gio: I know it's painfully annoying. Hopefully the new lights will solve it!

@ jks24: Thanks mate! Anything happening with your ride?

@ underbelly: Apparently the EK9 taillights have a darker tint on the mid-section where the reverse/indicator lights are. I can't really tell the difference myself cause the old taillights are f**ked LOL. EK1 taillights wouldn't have a hole/socket/bulb on them.

umm na mate i got a cxi in green. I havent spent much on it cause im hoping for a dc2r but so hard to find a decent one man. Im even thinking now should i just keep my cxi and do it up and then get a good engine when im off p's. Its immaculate and i know i will have difficulty finding a dc2r in the mint condition that my civic is.
