thanks heaps to everyone for their opinions
    keep them coming
yeah i would absolutely love to go turbo...but i'm on my P's...so i'm just looking for the best bang for buck i can get for the next 3 years
btw i currently have a 92 4afe corolla, how much quicker can i expect the civic (a8 or y1 coz it currently seems they're about equal) to be?
and i have heard that aftermarket support for the y1 vtec is better, is this true?
and i've also found that some d16z6's which i'm fairly are the yanks y1?? doing low 15's high 14's with just bolt ons and a bit of weight reduction...my goal would be for a low to mid 15. do you guys think this is plausible?
a heap of questions i know...but again, any help is greatly appreciated
    cheers.

yeah i know pretty much all there is to know about the 20v silvertop ay
wicked motor, but i didnt want to buy one that had been swapped into something else other than its natural home, the fx gt...which are a tad too expensive and wayyy to hard to find...
i also didnt really want to buy the gti corolla as i'm not a huge fan of the small/bigport 100kw 4age
i can definitely see your reasoning mate, but i've just sort of drifted off that route.

looking this morning however, i'm taking a bit of an interest in the 94 'teg vti-r.
looks like a pretty quick, solid, reliable car. anyone have any opinions on it?
    cheers.

pretty much general consensus here is that any b series has got some balls compared to d series which doesnt. all comes down to each individual car, if they have been looked after well ie serviced on time etc. , should be trouble free. just gotta do your research on each car as some have been written off and the sellers dont mention it.
