is dc2r and dc2 thermostat the same??

when i was trying to find a thermostat for my dc2r, i called up honda and they reckon there's 2 different part numbers for dc2r... the guy needed my VIN to make sure it was the correct one.

I went to Bursons and got an aftermarket one and they only had the 1 type which fit DC2 and DC2R. It works fine. I think it was $30
