Is this bad? I do it pretty often and it's not quite a habit. I tend to down shift everytime I slow down to come to a stop according to the speed, but never anything crazy like 110kph on 3rd to 2nd.

I don't think its so bad dropping from 4th to 3rd @ 80kph as i fall victim of this when i don't react as fast as id like. But im sure if you've dropped into 3rd doing 80kph your revs would be up to around 4-5k or so?? which is pretty high in my opinion.

[Side note] Theres no problem in braking in 4th until your going 40kpm - No damage done in this instance.

...Even though heal-toe method is really only used for track, you can practice and learn this method of braking&accelerating @ the same time to rev match & to reduce wear and tear of your internals.
Took me a while to get the positioning of my foot right no jokes about 2 weeks but this really pays off when changing gears, in your circumstance from 4th to 3rd @ 80kph - You will not feel the car jerk forward.

You will use more of your brake pads though...
In hindsight - Brake pads cost less $$$ than a clutch.

    Cheers mate.

This man knows, and now its my time to explain why.

When you rev match all you're doing is increasing the engine speed, this means your synros still need to speed up your gearbox internals to the relivant engine speed.

By double clutching (clutch in, neutral, clutch out, rev, clutch in, gear, clutch out)
You are not only raising the engine speed but also the gears inside increase in speed which furthermore reduces wear on the syncros.

Alot of people say it's easier/faster to just rev match but I can double clutch just as fast as most people rev matching.

    It's all in the timing.

yeh you can change gears without using the the clutch.
    done exactly how IZY-10 said.

    .

I can even get a vid to prove it

I rev match downshift at the same speed as I upshift because of the nature of my throttle which overruns when I lift off to downshift. Don't know how you can double clutch at that speed, especially if you have to add in 2 additional steps to double clutch.

Thats why I said most, if you can do it smoothly that fast
But what I notice is people rush then over rev the match because they put it in gear too early.

I can do it fairly fast tho, when the car is at low enough speed and rev (road and engine noise) you can hear the clutch pedal thump agaisnt the floor quiet fast.

I do it while spirited driving aswell as daily.
I can't even see myself regular rev matching anymore tbh, once you start double clutching it becomes a second nature.
Another thing is helps is when your syncros are ****ed, my brother owns a 400hp 180 so the syncros are generally going from hard shifting, double clutch down shifts (wah`la!) no more crunch.
