    intake help

    hey guys,
im considering buying a CIA for my car, wondering once air intake is installed would i need to change anything else on the car to make it perform normally without any breakage of anything?

a forum member told me that changing the sri pipe would be better then using the stock one , also that if the stock pipe was used it might break if u dont upgrade engine mounts?

is there more then just buying a CIA system and installing it without any other components that might also need to buy for this upgrade to work without breakage?

    thanks

    best regards

The member you mention was probably referring to issues that some (including myself) have had with the Gruppe M intake where signficant engine movement causes issues with the OEM intake elbow splitting. With any other intake this will not be an issue.

Almost any decent intake should bolt on with no issues. Some things that you might want to be aware of are that a lot of USDM cold air intakes require relocation or replacement windscreen washer fluid reservoirs (because the pipe is routed directly where the oem reservoir is) and also require cuts to be made to the plastic guard liner.

In terms of getting the best performance for limited dollars spent an Injen CAI is hard to go past particularly considering the strength of the AUD versus the USD at the moment.
