Hmm interesting. I have been thinking about switching my engine oil and tranny fluid to royal purple. It is very expensive - anyone use fuchs?

How so...? It's the only oil I use on the circuit, and I love it. What viscocity did you use?

Castrol Edge is good shit for the street, and hard parking. Use OEM g/b oil if your g/b is stock. If you have a aftermarket LSD then use what is appropriate. Cusco dif's only like Cusco oil or Motul FF LSD Type II oil.

When choosing trans oil, pay more attention on it's GL service rating... not the brand.
OEM honda mtf is GL4... there is also GL5. Higher rating doesn't mean better.
It means different formula for different purpose.
I think GL5 is for differential. Using it on gearbox may be harmful.

Spoon said that hey? I think the sheduled change out for transmission fluid is way too far apart. I mean for $50 (3 x 1L bottles) its very cheap insurance. Plus makes the box feel nicer and smoother.

10W-40? I've said this so many times but 10W-40 in my car makes it respond like crap. The RP 5W-30 is amazing. I agree with you about the 10W-40 though.

I change gearbox oil every 10,000km's, or 2 track days and engine oil every 5000km's, or 3 months what ever comes first, and before and after a trackday without fail.

Is redline shockproof g/box oil good with after market LSD (ATS, KAAZ etc).

royal purple is far better than OEM. its designed to take heat. both the engine and trans oils are the best. castrol edge is shit. oem is designed for normal driving and its prob a low end mineral oil.
