    Lost Euro Keys!

    Hi everyone,
Anywhere in Melbourne to purchase set of new Euro keys besides the dealership, which is extremely expensive. Any price guidance? Thanks!

At this moment, I don't think there are anyone else that does Euro keys AFAIK. You will need to go back to the dealer because the new key needs to be programmed with the car's immobiliser system for it to work....

You can buy blanks on Ebay. It then obviously needs to be cut (do you have the spare so it can be copied?) and programmed. It will still end up costing you a fair bit and Nick is right - the dealer will probably need to do the programming.

    eg - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33723

I am not guaranteeing this will work - so speak to Honda parts as to exactly what is required, you get the right blank, etc. Do the research - that ebay seller has lots of makes, so send them questions.

How much is honda quoting for key and programming? $250 would not surprise me.

    Hi yfin,
The cost of a new Euro key, copied and programmed, cost $550!!! Anyway, that key you posted is a great idea. Thanks!

Woah - that is outrageous. I think if you do the research and get your hands on a blank it has the potential to work. Just make sure you don't buy the wrong blank - also find out how much programming costs from the dealer.

The cutting shouldn't be too difficult if you have a spare - any decent locksmith can cut a key if you have a duplicate - getting the key and the code is the hard part.

    $550 isnt too bad.

    BMW's & Merc's ask for ~$800 for new key...

Some of the german keys are laser cut with all sorts of weird dimples, etc. Probably need to be sent back to Germany!

The Euro key is fairly simple in comparison.

$550!!! woh,,, I need to look after my key better. I dont even use a keyring, nor chain it with other keys. I usually just leave it in my side pocket when I am out of the car.
BTW, do all u guys only get 2 keys (both with remote control) right? no 3rd key like it used to be in the old days? Just want to make sure.

Only 2. One bad thing is that they are both the same and not a valet key. But then again, I wouldn't want anyone else driving my Euro.
