    stock airbox

    Hey

Sorry if this has been asked before i did search but no real answer

I want to put the stock airbox back into my dc2 vti-r but i need to replace the filter and there is a k&n replacement filter for $139 I was wondering if there is anything cheaper but still good.

Or i see that you can put a pod filter in the stock air box and just wondering if that might be the way to go

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

do u have the resonator still attached to ur intake?
my setup is a spoon replacement filter whihc is pod type n sits inclosed in the box then i got a flexible pipe (which replaced the resonator) n got it into the bumper sort of like a comptech icebox setup but prob not as good but imo its cheap n effective for a CAI will post pics if not too sure wat im on about lol

You can get a new OEM replacement filter from Honda for around $50 (I think that's the rough price).

OR, you can get a pod filter + 45 degree bend joint and stick that in the box attached to the stock intake arm.

SHI-FTY could you post a pic of your setup if it's not to much trouble (resonator that's the thing that runs off the stock intake arm then clips back down?)

Would there be any performance difference between oem replacement filter and the pod in box.

the resonator will be behind the front bumper on the drivers side, it connects to the box in which you put the airfilter in.

    this thing dude

it would be a good idea to remove it imo

And "just incase u didnt no" its located here:

then i forced the flexible pipe that i got from auto barn into d box n sealed it where the pipe meets the box to make it air tight

and i jst fed the pipe thru to where the resonator use to be but in this image i got d pipe bent around and is not how i left it! there is only 1 bend between the intake box and the end of it jst bends into the gaurd almost like a comptech
