Does anyone know how alpine iDA-X305 plays video?

Saw this head unit plays the same video as the video monitors next to it in jb-hifi last year be4 christmas.

i went to jb-hifi today and ask them abt how it plays video. but they told me that it can only show the name of song, artists and blablabla ect... but than, i found there is a "tv" option on the menu. and he checked for me and said it needs a tv tuner to plays video. but he didnt say anything more abt how to connect them together and use dvd player or just connect ipod video to the tv tuner and plays video on the screen of ida-x305.

does anybody knows how it works?

my head unit just doesnt work today and need to change one.

it doesnt play video, and it doesnt support a tv tuner either, and if it did, alpine tv tuners dont have aux inputs or anything, i think the guy at jb was just winging it.... the ability to utilise a tv tuner and play video would make the cost of the head unit more and is why these features are reserved for the more expensive multimedia units like the w502, and anyway, who the hell would want to watch a movie on a 2 inch screen?!

the jvc has the one plays video same size as x305 but fully touch screen cost 1k+

true, but its horrible to wtch, its really wide for its overall size and the images look weird, alpine have some new stuff coming out really soon for i-pod and what not, pretty cheap for what you get too, keep an eye out
