they are but the part numbers are different for the pressure plates.
I was told by a dealer it was prob due to the position of the pedal, not 100% sure but i had a friend who used the b18 in a b16 and it was fine

clamp load can be adjusted at clutch workshops mate.
Goodwork the exedy clutch + fidanza fly is a excellent combo.
i had massive problems with mine. i bought a fidanza flywheel which caused massive headaches... basically the flywheel you are replacing either has a step or no step
i fitted a SECO (made by Exedy) clutch with Fidanza aluminium flywheel and it would not engage gears... reason being that there was a step on the fidanza flywheel and my oem flywheel didnt... and because the fidanza aluminium flywheel is already so light, there was a danger of machining down the step.
i ended up having to pay for labour again, machining the OEM flywheel and had to sell off the Fidanza flywheel.
oh yea, mine was for a dc2... not sure if its the same for EM1s or not... prolly someone else would be able to confirm this for ya
thanks johnny, very interesting info. sounds like you took one for the team
i believe the b16's and b18's are pretty much interchangeable. a few people have said the exedy sports organic/stage 1 clutch (same thing... i think) and fidanza al fly is a good combo. i'm assuming this means it's been done successfully before - fingers crossed.
initially i didn't want such a light flywheel, was after more like a 10 or 12 pounder but... f*** it! lol.
will let ya'll know how it goes
