so you say the topspeed is LIMITED by the ecu and gearing? lets say it dosent have a speedlimiter.. dosent mean your geared to go 300kph your going to go 300kph depends on your power/torque/wind resistance/tires etc more to it than ecu and gearing
I think he means theoretically. even if you dont have a speedlimit your top speed is ultimately governed by gearing. if you're in 5th and redlining it you can't go any faster than that

Wind resistance will play the biggest part. Unfortunately, even if he was in 5th gear, just at the point of peak torque and a bit below peak power, the car still won't accelerate more if the power being produced is not sufficient to overcome wind resistance.
