cant really hear the cross over? sounds like a gsi lol but really it does.... are you running stock ecu? tune it with a proper ecu then you will really hear it crossover properly. VTiR ecu will still think you have the dual stage and make you have a retarted crossover. The proper gains will be met when you do ECU + a camshaft upgrade...
you need to adjust your vtec crossover point, my cousin ran a ITR manifold on a B18C2 ecu and it used sometimes kick in at 4500prm sometimes 5500rpm but i can tell you it ran like shit was really slow but after he properly tuned it , it sounded amazing.

    Yeah dude...

Stock everything including ECU... crossover is at 4600rpm all the time everytime.

Im going Hondata + Tune. Crossover would more suit 5500-6000rpm for sure...

Goes well as it is, can only imagine how much better it would be with full headers + exuahsut and computer and tune...

B18c2 gearbox is wayyyy too long

Well with headers, exhaust and ecu+tune you will feel massive increase in power. The B18c really comes to life , stock wise honestly it feels like an average car. If you can source out at least ITR camshafts or CTR with dual springs on the exhaust side. Will make the car so much easier to pull to redline. B18C2 gearbox gear ratios is quite long , but you can always mix and match with a s80/y80/s4c gearbox to get gearsets individually provided they work with the fd and LSD you have or are installing or you can do it the easy way and wack in a ITR box and sell off your current one

    Thanks for the advice

Yup I'm looking at buddyclub spec III's, nothing too aggressive, just something that will give me more punch in the midrange. Also seriously contemplating the Kiddracing headers. I've only read good things about them, and for $600 they sound alright. Can't really justify spending $1k+

Gearbox is also in my plans, trouble is finding one in good nick for a reasonable price! My current gearbox is absolutely beautiful, feels new. Second gear is just too long for my liking, I'd love an ITR one with LSD...

why are people so fussy about a VTEC crossover? you dont really want to be hearing the crossover point because it means you are losing too much power. My engagement is at 3800 and there is no noticeable engagement at all...but the power delivery is so smooth its unbelievable...

Then why did you say you would want to tune your car so that crossover is at 5500-6000rpm?

    It's a genuine question.

I'm just a little curious why would would only want to be able to engage VTEC for 2500-2000rpm?

When you change up a gear would you not drop out of engagement?

I was actually agree on the point of why do people make such a big deal about crossover, not where it's at. I don't care about where it's at aslong as the power is there.

That's not the point of this though. I just wanted to post a video just showing how the car sounds and performs with the intake and manifold. When I get the motor tuned, the tuner can worry about crossover point.

I get what your saying though

His running a ECU which is thinking he has twin butterflys, with a singlestage manifold.
Your statement is invalid because at the moment he has B18C2 Camshafts and its vtec engagement is relatively loud with a CAI , you cant really smooth out the vtec that well unless you have aftermarket camshafts... you probably have Buddyclub spec 3's? which the vtec is quite smooth. Also your intake and exhaust is also in question, if you have a loud ass exhaust you wont be able to notice your vtec. Im talking from experience, but you are right in saying that once a car is tuned the vtec is less noticeable because when i first had my engine built untuned the vtec engagement was heaps loud then when tuned it went slightly quieter, but with a CAI and quiet exhaust it still is loud.

Thanks man! Sounds great in the car, always makes me smile

    Immediate plans are:

-Buddyclub coils are a week or two away.
-Straight after coilovers are installed I will get some good headers, cat and exhaust.

Once I/H/E is completed, next stage is:

-Cams and supporting bits and pieces
    -Hondata
    -Tune.

That's it. In between all of that I will get other little things, for example i really want an ITR steering wheel lol. Also deciding on what wheels...

When I have some time we'll go out and do that Integra shoot with Pat and his legendary camera/skills
