Trism is right again! Do any of you guys have any form of computer control on the car to adjust the AFR mixtures and timing? If you dont, putting on any air filter wont do anything and might even slow the car down, other than giving you a suction noise under acceleration.
How I know? I happen to own a Dynapack 5000 AWD Dyno.

AFR control is used to maximize the benefits of intake header and exhaust mods but weather a car increases in peformance is not soley dependent on having an AFR controller. A less restricive intake and exhaust will still provide a slightly better improvement over stock, and it won't make your car go slower unless you do something stupid like put in a 3" exhaust causing you to loose back pressure or position the pod where it only sucks in hot air or water...
Doesnt the stock ECU automatically adjust the AFR to compensate for the different amounts of air it takes in?
I looked at the stock airbox and its like silly straw before it even reaches the panel filter. It looks very restricting.
The replacement standard panel filters and were like $40-60. So i might as well get something thats re-washable and sounds better. The gruppe M looks neat but way to expensive.

Alternatively buy a k&n drop in panel and remove the bottom section (there's 3 sections in the stock airbox) of the air box using a dremel, just cut along the line... That way no more restrictive race track which the air needs to be sucked through, still looks legal (filter is now exposed but only if you look from under the car), more induction noise and still mounts neatly..
Down side is you need to modify the stock airbox, and it doesn't look as cool as if you were to had CF parts in your engine bay...

This is very true, although unlikely as it is still less restrictive unless the cars intake was perfectly proportional and tuned at stock.
you should disconnect the negative termanal of the battery for 10mins and then put it back on should reset the ECU, u can tell because the clock will be be reset.
just make sure what u do to the 'in' u must do to the 'out', equations have to balance.
I looked at the grill this afternoon i thought it was open for cold airflow but the radiator or aircon condenser is actually blocking the way. I dont understand how the gruppe M intake works then...
