Radiator crack leaking coolant. :(

Hey everyone,

Earlier this year my mechanics told me my radiator had a crack in it which was leaking coolant and that I'd have to take it to a radiator specialist to get it repaired. A few days later I took the car down to Natrad and they told me that the crack had somehow sealed back up and was no longer leaking. They quoted me $600 to get it repaired when it would eventually begin to leak coolant again. I have just noticed it leaking again but am wondering if this quote is a rip off. I find a lot of workshops related to cars do rip people off enormously.

im no expert but im pretty sure a new rad is a lot cheaper than that.

Brand new radiator should be under $250.

Labor $50-70 including coolant.

well put it this way. if its gona cost more to repair your old rad. wouldnt it be a better idea to buy a new rad thats gona end up being cheaper?

There wanting the money lol, replace it with a aluminum radiator off eBay for $100 an some decent coolant.
Very easy to replace just drain the coolant, disconnect the hoses an unbolt the radiator stay an it will just pull straight out
Put new radiator in an connect hoses then fill it up.
Also disconnect battery while doing this an reset ecu.

Brand new radiators for normal cars go around for 165

After repairing a 1994 CD4 radiator top cover which had cracked from old age, I'd recommend that you buy a new radiator instead.

ahhh I'm thinking for a civic since they are half size radiators,
Integras have full size radiators best bet is to go OEM. Good Luck Mate

Where is it leaking?

Get a new radiator yourself, and if you can't do the labour then just pay somebody - should get out of it for less than $400. $600 is a total ripoff.

New OEM will be around 250
Aluminum one off ebay 200
2nd hand working cond - 100

just grab one of those and do the install, its really simple.. ive even got my old dc2r rad you can have for 50 bux if u want
