    car Repair suggestion

    I have a question about head gasket Replace. I got a car which has Overheating issue. So head gasket seems to be blown up. When ever i take the head out, do i need to do anything to the head or block or just a clean up and put a new gasket. Before I did replace head gasket, I clean the head and block , and put everything back. And which best gasket for d15b7.

    - Determine actual failure (Head gasket / cracked head etc)
    - Head service + lap top of block
    - Clean till spotless & re-assemble.
    - Use new head bolts if you don't know how to check them for stretch.
    Download the OEM service manual & dissassemble / assemble per instructions

    if you can pick up a D16y1 head - put that on there instead with a D16y1 head gasket
    you just need to wire in a line for the vtec and a P28 ECU to run it and you got yourself a mini-me =)

    otherwise...
    - get the head skimmed at a machine shop
    - lap the block surface
    - clean all surfaces until spotless
    - use a D15b7 or D16a6 head gasket

    D16y1 intake manifolds are also a nice bolt on upgrade for the D15b7
    and the D16a6 cam can be put in for a bit of extra power as well
    the D15b7 is such an underestimated engine

    I was thinking to build a mini me, but first i am looking for Head and manifold around for cheap. What is the full list for mini me?
    What cams give a little extra power for this engine with out doing mini me?
    car come with some stuff Headlight/foglight/amber, carbon hood, carbon Duckbill, Intake, VTi-r cluster, 17 inchs wheels 215/40/17 , Mirrors(think spoon replica) 4 disc brake( maybe GLi come with 4 disc brake But i know it come with rear drums), struts bar front/ rear , Aluminum Radiator

    the 2 main things u can do is a D16z6/D16y1 intake manifold - which just bolts on
    i have a spare one if your interested - i would also mount it with a hondata gasket =)

    and the D16a6 cam - which i can source from america for you

    both mods are fairly cheap and turn the D15b7 into a little weapon

    if you are looking at doing a mini-me you will need the following:
    - D16y1 / D16z6 head with dizzy and cam gear
    - a P28 ECU
    - run wiring for vtec
    - D16y1 head gasket kit

    thats pretty much it - everything else is re-usable
    i have everything but the dizzy sitting in my shed
    im considering selling it off as well lol

    I would like to put h22 , but i sold engine crane and need money for stuff and certificates, at least 3-4 K budget. I just wanna make it working, but extra power will never hurts .

    Thanks a lot man, I wanna make my mind at the moment and see how it's going. First if it has cracked head i will do mini me 100% but if it's just Headgasket so 50/50%

    if u wanna keep it a cheap build stay with the D15b7 head and just put the intake manifold and cam in
    with a set of ebay headers and a replica whale intake it will be a great little daily

    Where to do Head service in Melbourne around 3058 ? what the price?
