i've got an EG civic Vti hatch with a d16y engine and its got nowhere enuf balls as i want......what can i do at an affordable price to give it enuf power to better 1.8lts and 2lts without converting to a b18?

if i ever did decide to convert to a b18 is it worth it? is the power that much different?

well itll cost u around 7-8k for a b18c swap including da suspension.

If you want to add power to your current engine with alot of grunt, only thing i can think of is probably turbo charging get around 200+ HP or so i think , depending on your budget and setup

But the VTi is not for power performance more fuel economy .

well...if u had about $10-20k spare just lying around....you could work this engine ALL motor ...single fat non-vtec cam , twin mikuni carb , bisi header etc etc...and have possibly the fastest NA FWD in oz.

quickest NA FWD in the world is a 1.5 non vtec ( i believe!)

    But forget i said that...

Do what " master Chi " said - and save up around $8k....and go full blow with a nice clean vtir half cut installed

nope.. while the VTi aint a super-performance beast, it IS the top of the line in terms of power for the AUSDM EG civic's.

the VEi is the ecconomy VTEC.. not sure of the engine code at this stage..

With mild mods i am on the bumper of VTiR EK civic's so i'd have to suggest either the B16A or the B18C.

if you can get EG6 front cut for $3k - go for it !!!
