    getting coilovers?!

Hi all, I’ve been looking for a set of used coilover for quite a while now, and finally found a set of Tein HA that i like, (Fully adjustable, look pretty new from the photo) n im planning to give the guy a call to arrange for an inspection, but does any1 can teach me how to check the suspension to see if theyre still in good condition? (except for the look n leaking). is there anyother things i should be aware of ? (im a newbie)

Also, what do you guys think about the price? Is $1200 a good price for this set?

    Thanks guyz!

Until a professional pulls them apart you have no idea if anything is broken or bent inside them and "leaks" can be wiped away.

Its not really worth the risk if you have to spend $200+ each on having them sent back to japan to be reconditioned.

mod shops normally charge 100 for installation
but you would have to go to a tyre shop to get ur allignment done again for 60
some tyre shops will do a combo deal for you for 150 approximately..

make that abt $450 to send up to jp, repaired and sent back.

i believe u can get new sets for ard $1900. if not a tad bit cheaper.

as to installation, if u r in melb, u can pm me and i can recommend someone who does alot of this stuff and very good price too. i imagin it would cost abt $100-150. but remember u have to do a 4 wheel alignment after which could set u back abt $50-100.

the only thing u can tell would b if they are totally screwed or not and that would b by pressing down on the shaft to c if it's hard to push down. check for any chips/scratches on the shaft and listen to it when u push the shaft down. if it's in any decent condition, u shouldn't really hear it squeak i believe.

i was quoted $260 each for fightex(Toda) coilovers. thats what i based the price on.

i assume the $450 was just for new seals? doesn't include if anything else thats bent or broken?
