Engine mounts issue

Hi guys,

I have come across a dilemma with regards to my Hasports 60a engine mounts on my DC5R. I've had them on my car for around 6 months now and recently the vibrating noise inside the car is becoming unbearable and somewhat annoying..Passengers also complain about the amount of vibration..I did my research prior to purchasing it and I was advised that it would be fine after it settles in, however it is still vibrates a lot!..Other than this, there is no problems with them, they definitely eliminate the 'wheel hop' and the car feels more solid.

By the way, my car is only for street driving and will not be tracking it in future.

What do you guys suggest to resolve this issue? My options are:

- Put stock OEM engine mounts back in. The downside to this is that stock engine mounts are very weak and will split over time. I'm not going to track my car or anything. Purely for just street driving.

- Buy Hardrace or Mugen engine mounts as they are softer and provide less vibration once settled in.

Your advice and suggestions are much appreciated.

Nothing wrong with stock mounts. I had mine on for ages. None of them tore. Just don't drop the clutch and jab the gas hard ie: don't abuse the car.

I have 70a Hasports on my DC5. Vibes are minimal. I don't know why people complain about it.

If it's just street driving go the OEM mounts. They are the most comfortable. If they split just sikaflex them. Otherwise just harden up like your Hardrace 60A's

Are you sure it is your engine mounts? Have you checked to see if anything is loose?

Thanks for the advice guys. I've decided to go back to OEM mounts.
stndrd: It's definitely the mounts that is causing the vibrations, as soon as you turn on the car the whole inside vibrates...The rear mirror also vibrates which makes it hard to see.

Go hardrace, I got a set in my EP3 and the vibration is only annoying if they'res something loose, other than that I don't even notice it.

i vote hard race as well, dude oem is quite good...reason why people resolve to going to solid is their going to abuse the car a lot on street/track....so u save money on breaking mounts.
plus if u dont do the work urself....labour usually cost a arm to install mounts.

u can always put a stronger rear mount on and leave the rest stock imo.

Another problem arose, after purchasing stock OEM mounts second hand the mechanics at OTR informed me that the front and side mount are worn out. My concern is that how long these mounts will last as I don't know how much % they have left. I regret not buying brand new mounts now...I've been quoted $560 brand new OEM mounts delivered...$465 for Hardrace mounts shipped from JDM yard..

If you get hardrace, I think you'll be back where you started in terms of vibrations. I've got them in (track car not daily driver) and got a whole bunch of vibrations which weren't there before - dash, door panels, sun roof, front bumper, rear view mirror (vibrates so everything behind looks out of focus). It gets better once warmed up but if you really want a smooth hassle free ride try to get some OEM mounts. It's a bit subjective though, some will still say they don't notice any issues with harder/solid mounts in but it doesn't sound like you're one of those people.

If you want to try to save some cash try just putting OE side and rear ones in and see if it makes enough of a difference. The two front mounts are easy to change yourself later if you still see the need to, saves more cash on fitting by a mechanic.
