MY 12 Accord Euro Cabin Air Filter Replacement

I want to replace the cabin air filter element in my MY12 Accord Euro.
The owners manual says "first remove the shelf inside the glove box" and shows a picture of the shelf coming out .

    But it's not that easy.

That shelf is held in place by some sort of hidden catch and just does not simply slide out, as per the manual.

Can anyone give me some tips on what the method is to remove that shelf, so I can get at the element cover behind it?

Thank you. The shelf that you pull out seems to be jammed in in mine. I just cannot move it. But I'll give it a firmer pull and see what happens.

It was full of leaves, seeds and other things unknown to science. (I replaced it with a Ryco part.)
I had a look at the engine air filter element today and it wasn't much better. That was replaced as well.
