    tired engine

as above..the B18C in my dc2 has been thru 200k kms..even though going strong..bt i just dnt have much confidence in it...feeling that its end is coming soon..

was tinking of putting in a used B18C engine alone..hw much wld it cost?if i were to change the gearbox to the ITR's box...is there anything i have to modify to fit it?frm my knowledge it shld fit straight in...

if i were to get B18CR plus the ITR gearbox...do i have to change the ECU or any other stuffs?or its just a simple bolt on?as above..hw much wld each option cost?

    B18C - hw much?
    B18C + ITR gearbox - hw much?
    B18CR + ITR gearbox - hw much?

why? do you think its not reliable?

plenty of b18c's have plus 200K without problems. as long as engine maintained ok shouldn't be a problem. I think its a waste of money to consider swapping it before its time is up. And yes, ITR gearbox should bolt straight on and you don't need to change your ECU.

yeh complete waste of money to swap new engine when it is not even needed. A B18C will last you the distance if you look after it properly. I had an Integra LS that had done 250,000+ kms with no engine problems.

    Hmmm
when you say last, do you mean that the engine will still put out good power? [sorry to hijack] what about the d-series engines? could they be kept and still run, putting out good power after 200, 000 kms?

I'd say stick with what you have, and if it starts to die off then get a rebuild.. I got my b18c rebuilt and it's going strong.. lol (the oil burning was just shitty running in oil :P lol doesn't like vtec) Plus it would be a cheaper option to swapping in a b18cR and you can easily get more power outa your b18c then just using a stock b18cR for less than buying just the b18cR..

why you thinking of changing it for??? if its still work than drive it heahehaehah, but instead of spending the money on a re-con engine...why not do a rebuilt of it...wouldnt that be better???
