depends how u drive, and how you've treated the engine b4 now. and whether u have it tuned properly, as for the rebuild i'm not sure how much it would cost. might be cheaper to get a swap, but like i said i dunno

so i wouldnt drive hard all the time and the engines in fairly good nick. regular services well looked after. so i could just get a turbo setup put on and thats it. oh and get sumthin like a hondadata and get tuned properly.

MR-VTEC, we did an 89 crx and that engine has done like 300k+ kms and its still fine after 2 years of boost.

do it, then u can tell us how long a b16a after 160 000km's with a turbo running 6psi and proper tuning will last. sounds fairly safe to me, if you do it like u said, but i couldn't tell you how much life ur engine has left,

does anyone else know more about this?

it was a complete conversion, 9k for the setup. if ur going to be skimping dont turbo ur car, just go i/h/e, not worth getting **** all gains because ur to tite to spend the first time.

well if ur budget on ur turbo kit, dont bother, cos something does go wrong its all over for ur engine.

as pornstar said ... if your going to do something do it right the first time.

if you want to do a turbo conversion on your engine you might aswell spend money and replace internals so you can run a stable setup that is capable of higher boost and power ... and if you replace the majority of your internals then you've pretty much dont a rebuild anyway, beside the usual stuff involved in a rebuild.

you say that now you wont drive your car hard ... but as soon as you turbo your car you'll want to take it hard and you will want more and more boost ... I can guarentee it hehehe ... so you would be better off doing a good setup now and have piece of mind for later down the track when you want to up the boost... cos we all know you will want to

not really, just that if u dont spend the correct amouts for the parts first time, ur likely to blow ur engine.

when the time comes that i wanna up the boost i will sell up and buy a factory turbo car. so my new question is whats the cheapest bolt on turbo kit i could apply considering reliability for about two years and never running anymore than 7psi.
