    How Do They make The muffler Tip Burnt Style

    hey guys.

    Just wondering if anyone has insider information into how exhaust companys make the stainless steel tips burnt, titanium look.

    good question, ive never thought about it but i would like to know too. Im thinking it would be some sort of high heat treatment and then sudden cooling etc.

    Probably blowtorch. You just need to burn the metal (have a look at an overheated drill bit).

    The only problem with burning metal is it gets soft...

    yup i second that.. try using a oxy welder... that works... just burn ther outer tip of the exhaust and let it cool then u get that titaninum tip effect.

    do u mean that the tip of it turns blue??
    if thats wot u mean then its the metrial of teh exhaust, it changes colour when its heated

    When you buy a s/s header it turns purple after a while so heating the inside pipe is prolly what has to be done.
