I dont like weepin coolant full stop, especially after i just finished cleaning the shite off my entire exhaust, including the tailpipe lol, from a drain bolt leak last week.

so weepin is a sign of failing components?

Thanx for all the suggestions. I'm try the suggestion of running it with the timing belt cover off and see if i can see the leak. If not, I'll have to get a pressure test done to see if i can find the leak ........

    Keep u guys posted.

How did you go with this problem? I just noticed a leak in exactly the same spot on my LS. I figure it's the water pump too but I haven't taken the timing belt cover off yet. Be nice to hear if you sorted your problem out.

OK, I know this is dragging up an old thread, but for the sake of other people who have had the same issue I thought I would post an update. I finally got around to changing the timing belt/water pump and found that the water pump seal was leaking causing a tiny bit of coolant to push upwards into that little "ditch". My water pump was doing this for years with no problem or visible loss of coolant.
