ebay cannons vs retail shop cannons

hey.
i want a deeper and better sounding note on my ed sedan. 89 civic. i want to know what the sound difference between a ebay muffler and a exhaust shop muffler is? the exhaust place wants 200 for a cannon and 240 for the cat back. ive seen a muffler on ebay that says it retails for 180 but its cheap so im thinking of getting this one. anyone got a cannon on the carby civics?

each muffler will sound diffeerently depends on the mods u hav in ur car and the quality, sizing and the metrial that its made out of.
so unless the exhaust shop is sellin u the excatly same brand/type of cannon that u saw on ebay then u cant really compare the 2

oh ok then. thanks mate, dont know what cannons they sell but i told him i wanted a deeper and bit louder sound and he quoted 440 for catback.

i have no idead what different types of cannons sound like so i dont know what to get, or how loud it will be.
anyone got sugestions as what to get?
ive searched but it comes up with new civics and teg's n stuff.

do the exhausts sound different on carby/older cars than newer?

depends on what the inside is packed with. fiberglass/ glass/ kevlar/ nothing. Ask and find out.

i bort a 100buck muffler from a ricer shop
it was a baby canon
sounded good tho

generally i rekon. a muffller that haf a lil more weight to em shud get u the sound ur after
on the other hand, light, cheap will giv u milo can ftw

thanks guys, i think i will get one off ebay. if its crap, il sell it for what i got it for lol. the guy at the shop said if i want a deeper sound i have to increse the pipe diameter. is that true? i was jus goin to get an axle back but will it sound alot better with a full catback? worth the money i mean?

wid a cannon only thing ur gona get is a fart sound, increasing pipe diameter will not only give u a deeper sound but as well as bit more power wid better flow. go wid a 2.25 catback

p.s i hope its not an auto, it will sound like a fart cannon n a 1/2

nah mate its manual, i dont think ive heard a car that has a 'fart' sound to it. got no idea what it sounds like. i think il go to the exhaust shop and sk them to fit some up or show me what some will sound like. wont 2.1/4 be to big fo a 1.5L? ive only got a k&n filter and dont the carb mod thats on this forum the more petrol one

all comes down to the quality of the muffler. Usually you can tell from the welding work of the muffler.

THe problem with the ebay ones is its hard to see the muffler.
