the wider the tyre the larger the contact patch with the road surface... that will in turn increase traction, meaning harder braking, acceleration and cornering without breaking traction... so there is performance gain to be had... however, they are heavier, so theyll prob slow you down lol...

my main issue is people getting 8 or 9 inch rims, but putting on 225/235 tyres? wtf? use 7 or 7.5 inch and chuck on 225/235 lol
