My Euro has now done 153000k's and my fuel economy is heading south fast over the last couple of months. Around 11 or 12L per 100k which is a lot worse than i have previously got.
I have noticed that my stainless exhaust pipe tips are rather sooty black.
In years gone by this would indicate that the fuel mixture is too "rich" .
Is that still true with today's fuel and engines ??
I use Shell 98 exclusively and the spark plugs were changed at 100000k
