    My HKS Legamax Premium Exhaust

As some may already know, I have bought and installed a second hand HKS Legamax Premium Exhaust from JDM land. This exhaust unfortunately was actually meant for a JDM Odyssey Absolute (200bhp) model while in Oz we get the Type M model (160bhp), so some mods had to be made just to get it fitted.

Firstly, the HKS is I think a 2 1/2" system splitting into 2 2" pipes while our OEM system is a 2". So obviously the cat and the resonator section would not fit. So I had to get a new flange and a small section cut and welded.

The rest of the exhaust just lined-up and fitted. But because my mid pipe was cut in half for transport, it also had to be welded back together.

    This is the result

Not too happy with it, so I'm going to get more work done on it. Firstly re-adjust the mufflers so that it is balanced, currently one is slightly lower. Secondly cut the exhaust shorter so that the tips don't stick out so much. Reason why I think it sticks out so much is because of the design of the body kit that is on the Absolute models actually sticks out more.

This is how it sounds currently

When cruising, the exhaust is silent, it is only heard when accelerating and it is not loud.

One side effect is that I have now got to raise my car up because the resonator is freaking huge and is scrapping on some humps. This is the offending piece of metal.

Those that buy the proper Legamax model for our car should not have this problem as the resonator is a lot smaller.

Power wise hmmmm... there doesn't seem to be any change at all. I was expecting low end loss with mid to high end gain.

So at the end of it all, I have learnt an important lesson, next time just freak'in buy the correct exhaust for you car and save the hassle of dicking around just to get it to fit. Will update again when I get the changes made.
