    im running stock c2 cams, which makes your statement invalid. My non VTEC cam stopped making power at 3800, so it makes sense to engage the VTEC cam at that rpm..maximising torque and power, Since the engine isnt producing any power on the idle cam. Engaging the VTEC AS SOON as the idle cam stops making power means the power difference when switching cam profiles is almost none noticeable, hence creating a minimal VTEC crossover point and the smoothest power delievery. Therefore, Who said you need after market cams?
