think about it once you whack cams etc in a non-vtec and approach the engine's limits, you're still only in stock B16A territory.. B16A head on your B18B block and you're closer to type R
If you can make your desired power with the motor u have then why wouldnt you.
Theres plenty of examples out there of nonvtec making good N/A power and running good times.
