I need some advice on my future mods.
I know that there are enough info on OH but not much of them explains
what I want.
Any car can be tuned to any power desired, only money is in the way.
If i had another car then I wouldnt have any problem but since its my only car, I need a car that is VERY drivable.
since some extra weight on boot + future sound deadening plan, I want some more power, but nothing too serious.
All i want is enough power to have time to time traffic light dash +
track 1~2 times a year.
I still want around 3~50 kg sound deadening...
option 1. build d16y
y8 head + crower stage 2 + cam gear + pm6 piston + pnp + basic ihe
Expect around 2~3k
option 2. b18c
doesnt have to be type r as cost jumps up to high.
still expect 3~4k ???
ecu upgrade for both...
Now... I have been thinking about this for long time and thought of few cons...
option 1-------------------------------------------------------
- as I am willing to keep audio so building d16y may be off track?
I am guessing it will still be too heavy.
- will not sound as good as tuned dohc vtec... READ my signature...
- need extra work for 8k redline... b18c starts off from there...
---------------------------------------------------------------
option 2-------------------------------------------------------
-having stock b series for few grand is bit off....
---------------------------------------------------------------
As looks and sound (audio and engine note) is my best interest, I dont
want my car to have just those too. need little more power.
hoping for around 100~120kw@wheels.
basically i want mild tuned type r power for as cheap as possible.
Or maybe neither of them will do what I need?
what really concerns me is low-mid range performance.
Not expecting for v8 torque, I just hope I dont end up having a car
that will eat type r's and gets eaten by 2+ liter sedans on streets.
(lack of torque makes my right foot go deeper just to match speed with
other sedans. NOT talking about street racing....)
I really dont believe in highest power figures, I see many lower powered but high potential track cars.
any alternative ways? cheaper the better.
any advice is my gain.
# oviously english is not my first language... sorry guys
