Just wondering if anyone has some tips for taking off the airbag wheel on an EG civic.

Which steps should be taken first.

u gotta b careful when taking it off as well and just re installing the steering wheel

coz ur indicators might not cancel properly.. better to take back to get a proper wheel alignment done.. coz they should fix it afta the wheel alignment

i.e by doing a static w/a then test drive then a dynamic w/a adjustment

so ya id take it bak to where u got the w/a done!

taking the stearing wheel off to recenter it after a wheel alignment is a big no no.

take it back to the place that did the alighnment and make them fix it from the tie rods.

In case you were planning on taking it off to replace it with a sports (ie non-airbag) item, thought you might want to know that is illegal, and you will be defected for it.
currently onda-less...but i do have an Evo 6.5

hahaha so true man, you can get booked for everything these days. Just be carefull of the "SRS" light on the dash, it will stay on (unless you take out the bulb). And rebadge your car as a breeze, they didn't come out with air bag steering wheels.

ECU-MAN, why is it a no no, just out of curiousity. I don't really care any more been like that for over a year now. I took it back but they must've been n00bs because they couldn't fix it. I told them to forget it and drove off without paying for the wheel alignment

    beacuse the

stearing rack is no longer in the central position and will forever be a bit to the left or right and no longer rest in its central position.

also might not be noticable but you will have mo travel on the left than the right or vise versa

on NSX, S2000 , prelude, you will make the sub stearing angle sensor go out of alighnment and cause 4ws and or EPS problems,

a major nightmare in 4ws preludes
