Powercoating your Rims in Sydney.. any info?

My cousin told me about this process very popular in Malaysia called Powercoating your Rims.. he said in short, it basically costs about RM300 ($100aud) and they spray stock rims with a special lacquer called "powercoat" and can paint it whatever colour you like.

Has anyone tried it before or know anything about it? I'm curious to investigate 'coz I'm too cheap to buy white rims for my car.

they apply paint with ionised paint particles, that stick and bond to the item.

Powdercoating is far from a new process. As actionman said, it is ionised particles that create a very strong finish. That being said, I have read that good spray painting will create the same sort of finish and is much cheaper (to powdercoat in Melbourne is a fair bit more than $100, plus you have to strip the existing surface). The other downside is that it is very difficult to get it off if you decide you want to change the colour of the wheels again.
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

Is this process a good idea or not for my stock Honda rims to make them look more... colour-coordinated?

Is that $350 for jus to repair what you got, or would that also include changing the colour? I'm seriously considering either doing it white or black... don't really like the silver.
