ticking noise Eg4

hello i have an eg gli and my engine is a d15b7 and it is macking an anoying ticking sound exactly like in this video i found on youtube (dont listen to the hissing sound of the pod)

sounds like the tappets to me, but another noise that it could be is the imput shaft bearing in the gearbox.

yeah i put my ear close to the sound, and sounds like its coming from inside the cam cover

id adjust your tappets

yeh if its coming from the cam cover shuld be ur tappets just take it to ur mechanic and ask them to re-adjust ur tappets

how much does it usually cost to adjust the tappets?

^ an hour of labour usually. depdends on workshop, say ranging from $70-95

but the mechanic to confirm it is the tappets first before u get any work done.

i haven't wathed the vid coz i have no speakers at work lol, but from what you have said it does sound like it is most likely the tappets

75 bux jeez just to adjust some tappets. i got ecu-mans vid on how to adjust tappets mite try myself but otherwise ill take it to mechanic. thnx guys

100% tappets, they're just really lose, you should really get them done now cause some of them might be too tight as well but you wouldn't know because they dont make any noise at all and you'll find out when you burn a valve
