check the nuber on the block, if D16Y8 (which is most likely) it's 1.6 SOHC vtec, also if your VIN is *** EJ8****** the EJ8 usually indicates it has the above mentioned engine

I thought the Coupes had VTEC (the 96kw & 118kw SOHC/DOHC)

Coupes came in either Gli Vti or VTIR
Gli were drum brakes and auto matic only
Vti was manual and Disc brakes
VTIR was DOHC VTEC and disc brakes and no Automatci option
