Cropping and resizing are two different things.

I guess i didn't clarify enough. If you downsize the image resolution WITHOUT loosing any of the picture you'll loose some sharpness around your edges etc.

Where as if you just do a straight crop you'll be fine.

You'll also need to think ahead with taking your photo's then if you know they're going to be cropped or used for a specific purpose (ie magazine covers usually have plenty of blank space in the frame for titles, etc.

I'm only talking about cropping, since the output are 3:2 from my DSLR.
What i'm saying it's a bitch catering for every single size ppl request.
One want this size, another want that, it won't end!

Easier to give out the pictures in 4:3, 5:4, and 16:10 ratios at a large size and if it doesn't fit their monitor natively, resize down accordingly themselves.
Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Yeah that'd be the way to go.

Just send them out at like 3200+ for people that wanna do 1600 dual screen crops. hehehe

    Dont forget 1680x1050 (16:10)

22" widescreen LCD's use this resolution and are dirt cheap these days ($383-$600+) and are selling like hotcakes

I'll leave it to Steve to decide but IMO there are just too many sizes to cater for and it makes the workload much much higher. Hence increasing the chance of the wallpapers not getting done.

How's about you guys actually submit some decent wallpapers instead of complaining about the sizes of the available ones?
