OS temp has a bearing in that the CC needs to know what the temp of the incoming air is in order to be able to heat or cool it to achieve the desired cabin temp.

Something also to consider is that the 'perceived' temperature of the air coming out of the vents can be misleading. For example, on a hot day (say, 35C+ outside), air coming out of the vents at 25C would feel cool. But on a cold day, say, 10C, air coming out of the vents at the same temp would feel warm. This example over-simplifies things a bit, but the general gist of it is correct.

Sunlight is also a factor. If you are in the sun, the air from the CC is colder compared to when being in the shade.

sorry to bring up an old thread. after i came back from my 10000k service. my car is blowing out HOT air even when i set the temp to 19 or Lo. changing the temperature only affects the fan speed not the temp of the air coming out from the vent. the outside temp is 22 (not sure if it's right for melb today) and seems to be stuck at 22 even when i'm in direct sunlight or underground carpark.

can someone help before i have to take it back to dealer. thanks.

If it blows out hot air even at LO, then take it to the dealer.

Did you have the AC on or off? If you haven't already done so, try pressing 'Auto' and set the temp to 'Lo'. If the air coming out of the vents doesn't start cooling down, then it'll probably be a dealer visit.

I hope you're not planning to drive on Sunday or Monday (Max 38C both days)

Outside temp reading can take a while to update sometimes, especially when you've been parked in the sun for a while. But 22 was certainly not right for today, (max temp ~34C)

That doesn't sound right.I'd visit the dealer anyway just for peace of mind.

I took mine in for my 10k service last week, and yesterday the temp was also reading 22, even after it had been parked in the sun for ages. i didn't take notice of it this morning though, but i'll check it out on my way home. What was more strange was an irritating ear piercing sound the car was making - it sounded like an annoying electronic frequency coming from the front of the cabin, i could only hear it when the car was off. I left the car parked for about an hour and the sound was gone. Anyone ever had something similar? My car is stock!

Sunlight does not affect the outside temperature gauge.
