    B16A2 Throttle Position Sensor

    Hey all,

Havent been here for a while but im wondering what problems are associated when the TPS is removed from the I/M and disconnected , atm im not running the IACV either due to a lack of room and it seems that due to clearence issues the TPS has broken the plug off as

    any ideas

    thanks

    ^ what he said.
The TPS should be located on the side of the throttle body , opposing the throttle cable connection.

guys, the TB is on the IM, so he might truly be referring to the TPS

it may cause rough idle running, possible difficulty starting and poor fuel economy...

yeah im sure its the TPS, i should have explained that the motor is no longer in a Honda but a Mini which may explain the clearance issues i am having ..

It still idles with the tps and IACV disconnected and i belive it can be run fine with no IACV and i will just need to edit the ecu and raise the idle a little also

looks like im going to have to go scour the wreckers and try to figure out why it broke in the first place

    welcome any other ideas

PS i have attached a few pics if anyone wants to have a look

your project is looking realy nice

your car wont drive to well without the TPS.

you may not be able to achive normal operation with out it as the engine will go into limp.

I can hook you up with another one if you need one.

Ecu-man , i believe we have spoken in the past via pm about modifying the ecu in regards the disconnection of iacv and other various unrequired features , if you could pm me a price for a tps i will get it organized

the tps tells the stock ECU many things,

mostly about WOT operation as well as backing off rev cut...

and also throttle enrichment on quick throttle inputs...

i have a spare TPS if you need it... in sydney...

i was thinking you could rotate the throttle body either 90 or 270 degrees,

and re-tap the bolts into the IM to fit...

that way instead of the TPS/throttle cable beign fore/aft it would be up/down...

if you get what i mean...

alternatively - individual throttle body setup should fix the issue too
