Just got my CRX (JDM or AUDM?)

Hi all I just got this after ditching my breeze.
I love it but in one of my posts it was disputed to be a AUDM but I'm convinced it's a wierd JDM crx si.
The VIN starts with JDM and it has compliance plate, back seats, jap writing in the interior, glass roof but it has a d16a8 and the bump in the bonnet like the AUDM's.
So what have I got? it's only done 112,000kms so I assumed theres no motor swap.

definatelly JDM by the sounds of the glass roof, rear seat, rear spoiler.

As for the engine - did you buy the car here? or have it imported?? Im having a guess, but I'd say previous owner got the car in and for some reason swapped the motor. Do you know the history of the car?

Ive heard of situations where a JDM crx would not be registered as they had no record of a ZC on their system so people would do a D16A8 swap to get it over - but heard of 1 or two of those situations only.

Thanks man... nah dont know the history as I got if off a dealerand he was clueless bout crx's but it was only owned by one guy.
Is a bit strange that the previous guy maybe tried to make it AUDM because it came with a lock box and extra parcel shelfs put in it but I got them to put the seat back in which was hidden in the boot. No seat belts but.
It's zippier than my old breeze.

Yeah if its got jap writing on it and the like then it would be a jdm car with an engine swap.. Nice ride by the way... Hope you enjoy every minute of it.. Work on handling and suspension first and the car will be a dream to drive.. go kart on steriods!!

SI and SIR are the JDM variants. my sir is an ef8, yours will be an ef7 i think. the aus crx's are ED. ED9 from memory and i think the ZC motors run slightly higher compression giving slightly more power than the d16a8. whether you would notice on a car of 17 years is another story.

like krogoth said, get a k20 in there and u will be right

as far as i know no aussie delivered cars came with the glass roof. plus with that gay little semi-spoiler it'd have to come from japan lol
is the engine actually labeled d16a8 or zc?

are you SURE the vin starts with JDM? no honda VIN's start with JDM!

it will most likely start with JHMEF7 in your case (presuming it is an EF7)
