clutch help please

i believe that my clutch has gone on my 2000 s2000. problem is, i have been quoted $2400 by honda for a new one to be fitted($900 for the clutch and the rest in labour). i thought this was a bit rich. until i spoke tho someone else and they said that they would not touch the s2000 in case some thing went wrong. but they said it could be up to 15 hours of work. does this seem right. i am happy to pay what ever it is but was shocked at just how much i was being quoted. Also if i am going to fork out this much for a standard s200 clutch, does any one know any better ckutches for a bit more? cheers

if thats the case, buy the clutch off honda, and get it fitted elsewhere, where abouts are u located at?

if your based in sydney take it to hannys performance. will be WAY less then 2.4k LOL

I got my clutch kit done in a matter of hours,cost $400. Ud probably save more money if u buy an aftermarket clutch,then it should cost around $900 for a new clutch and labour.

mate , you should post up over on au.s2ki.com and ask for some help, as we have a few members from Perth posting on there . They might be able to point you in the right direction .

The OEM 01+ clutch will cost you between $900-$1200 max . Anymore than that , they are just pocketing the extra $$$ . You will most likely need a new fly wheel $300 . And for a mechanic with S2000 experience , it will take about 3-4 hours for the job . Labour from most Sydney Mechanics to fit it will be in the ball park of about $400 .
