I think what Ivan (hipowerracing) is saying is totally correct.

everyone needs to stop whining about this sorta stuff (businesses in particular), particularly in such a rude way

no one that operates a business will take money by gun-point but of course if they believe in their products they will make a reccomendation.
If you take the advice but are not happy with it in the end, don't shop there anymore. Simple.

no need to ruin a thread that was initially about a track time.

I'm more interested in a dc5r getting into the 50's then some arguing back and forth between members with a chip on their shoulder about something i frankly don't know about (or want to know about).

And just so we can clarify who is being 'rude' here

"rude: discourteous or impolite, esp. in a deliberate way: a rude reply."

calling someone a 'rude ****' intern makes you rude. Please show some maturity, if you have a problem bring it up in a respectable way and maybe others will bother listening to your complaint.

exactly what i was gonna say.

i think a lot of the time it's more to do with the driver... like some people say 70% driver 30% car

your car helps you achieve your best

"if you have a beasty engine but don't know how to drive, you won't make the most of it"

i think that is much more accurate

Damn straight man. Its 70% driver 20% car and 10% luck.

Sorry for the off topic post but it is sorta relevant to the topic. Track times and all.

nah, i think the point is totally relevant.

Tony has a weapon of a car, but getting into the 50's also takes a lot of driver skill (especially in traffic) and i think that point is being overlooked.

the car matters but the driver matters more

i was talkin to a guy that's part of a pit crew and he was saying that their driver always says that if the driver can't drive a slow car fast, how are you gonna be able to drive a fast car fast.

yea it's a good point too.

one of the best mods would be to get some driver training haha, would like to find out about that.

What has this all got to do with me?? hahaha...

Firstly 59.9 is like scratching the sub 60secs by the skin of a fly's dick...no need to show off (we did a 59.4 with or b16a1 in our crx)

However I believe "bachlor" can do better times especially with the cooler climate coming in.. and we all look forward to that - congrats!

With Centrax I think they are not so fast these days, but come on they were the forefathers of racing in QLD and for that it is well deserved. And did you know that Centrax a couple of years ago had an EG sedan that did below 60secs (correct me if im wrong, so as i said sub 60 is yesterdays news).
I have never met Chris or Stephen, but i think they must be pretty okay to have so many people defending them. I think we all should leave businesses alone - period.

Also, I choose to race with a lighter car - that is just called motorsports. I have never seen a full trim Japanese GT race car. My car is an all purpose track car (that we drive on the road to reduce towing charges). Everybody knows that a race car does not have interior trim; it's like comparing the K-series to a B-series = 15 years more development.

We might not have a flash workshop (mainly due to the fact my dad is not a millionaire) but i do believe in the work we do, and we have the results to PROVE IT. We believe in spending money wisely and making the right choices (E.g. Whats the point of 6 pot brakes in a standard car?) and shti times to prove it.

And to comment on my driving skill - i'm a hopeless driver, but who says that a owner of a casino must be the best gambler? We are a performance shop and that is what I want to do, I want to built fast car not race them personally; I cherish my life more haha.

I am lucky that my 2 best buddys are robbie nyugen and jerome kennedy(we will be building a s15 drift car together). i initially built my car for robbie as he was bugging me built it for him to bring it out for the weekend sprint meets. when we built the car we never expected to kick ass.. but i just did it the best way i knew how... and it worked hahaha. Yes they are the best drivers in qlds but i know for a fact if our work was not up to scratch or if they think we are going to get our ass kicked they will not voluntarily ask me to built the cars for them..

End of the day the moral of this tread is:
Business' names like Centrax or mine should not be dragged into treads like that (huh barefoot..haha)

Bachelor did 59.9 - again, congrats you have done well, and we look forward to racing your car in the drags and track - but bro this time no excuses..

We also look forward to you servicing you cars with us. Knowing that you have spent so much with Centrax.. I need food too.. lol ... maybe not, im too fat!
Ok if your crx is so fast put yourself or someone beside rob behind the wheel and see what times you do.... Not saying the car is slow but i think anyone else would be struggling to do anything under 60secs.

And i am not having a go at your workmanship either, everyone who goes to your shop seems to be happy with your work, so props to you. But don't come on here and say my times are shit when no other integra has gone that quick, Evan was the closest and his car makes the basically same power as mine and in my opinion he is a much more experienced driver than me.

As other ppl have said doing a good time is 70% driver skill, the crx is a lot faster than me in a straight line and should be quicker than me round the track especially with a driver like rob behind the wheel.

I CHALLENGE ANYONE OTHER THAN ROB TO DO A SUB 60 SEC LAP SINCE ITS SO EASY.
