IMO if you got the $$ go with the gruppeM, best intake out there for the DC5R. Good throttle response and good power gains.
Mugen/Injen ?
Mugen => better response not much gains, so I've heard
Injen => loss of low end response (<3000rpm) but better gains. But heck I never drive under that. vtec FTW!
Currently running a injen CAI in my dc5r. Love it when vtec kicks in! loud as F**K
Actully Mugen and GruppeM one's price very similar, but in case of mine, I just try Mugen and stock one so far, no idea for GruppeM or other brand's CAI, but seem GruppeM one need to do some mod to fit itself on the Engine Bay, so I went for Mugen one, correct me if i am wrong~cheers
umm... its a direct bolt on like the mugen intake. the only difference is that u also have to remove the RHS cowl as gruppeM provide their own custom one... just like how injen provide their own custom washer bottle.... im poor as a mofo, other wise i would get a gruppeM... but mugen is still good though
Did you have any troubles securing the top section of the intake? I snapped 4 of the bolts ontop of mine because the top panel was so out of alignment with the bottom. Other than that, an excellent intake you will be happy with it.

in my case, it fits perfectly on my engine bay, even the install guide in Japanese, but its pic mention clear enough to DIY it. And yes, mugen intake just nice on looking and perfrom~ it worths of my every cent~
With stock front bar you are looking at less gain due to less direct airflow...but still better then stock.....if you use aftermarker front bar like mugen, Cwest....you will get better gain due to better airflow and also intake temp will be lower as well.....that make some difference.....but neways.....good choice......enjoy every moment of it.....
