d16y4 ecu.. hondata allowed?

been doing some research on the net and asked a few questions

what ecu is on the honda civic EK1 with the d16y4?

its the only ECU with a question mark regarding if its OBD1 or OBD2...

have also looked at the plugs on the ECU and it looks like theres only 2 slots where as other diagrams i've seen have 3. so i doubt i can even run a conversion harness to make it obd1 for a hondata?

sorry if this post is abit confusing but my main question is can i run a hondata on a D16Y4 motor?

but in non simple terms will there be alot of work needed?
costs be alot more then the simple hondata on a OBD1 car..

you will need an OBDI ecu and convertion harness. yoru EK is OBDII

but my ecu plugs are totally different to both of these diagrams i have seen

can conversion plugs be bought to suit my particular ecu

mine computer only has 2 plugs on it... not 4 like shown in the obd2 diagram

Yes you can buy a conversion harness

ur ecu is the sohc non vtec cxi type 2 plugs. For the amount of money you need to spend for that, get urself a much better ecu

thats right it is the 2 plug type

some suggestions and price ranges please?
also who in sydney would be able to supply/fit/tune these things

Depends on the ECU as to who to get to tune it, which depends on how much money you want to spend.

Give us a price range for ECU + install + tune and then we can advise on what is available and best for those $$$$.

Initial budget was $1000 for a hondata s100 ECU which is right because from the quotes i have been getting they come to around the $900-$960 mark supply/fitted/tuned.
but because my car is OBD2a it seems as i'm going to need a OBD1 ECU and conversion harness. so now im trying to not go past the $1500 mark

what mods are you doing to your engine? if its only simple mods which it sounds like if your going s100 (its a basic chip), then your better off to get an emanage for your budget and goals.

Ive wired a few to your engine type and loom type its pretty easy, the unit will cost you less than 500 bux, add about 80 for the harness and then about 250 for tuning so your done for about 800 bux.

If your engine is heavily modified, then state what they are and ill give you a better idea.
