Giday Guys,
Let me just couch my following comments with a clear statement that, I do not now, nor have I in the past, bowled from the Paddington end. Similarly, I have a firm view that this lifestyle choice will continue for the foreseeable future.
My topic here relates to the apparent out-moded views of some of OzHonda's members with respect to affirmative action and respect for the roles of women in the wider community. Some of the thought leaders and senior members of OzHonda have a penchant for displaying avatars of women's breasts, cleavages and generally the décolletages. I don't find this personally offensive but just wonder about the sensibilities of any women that might want to become members. I know the site has a code of conduct. I just wonder how the members would react to my proposal to show avatars of myself in the near-buff?
I agree with you 100% - it is not so much because I find it offensive. It is more about making Ozhonda friendly for everyone - including women and guests (who cannot turn avatars off). I think all cleavage, undie, etc avatars should be removed. It might also help us increase the collective maturity by a notch.
Agreed that we should not be having offensive material in avatars. If moderators come across anything offensive they do remove the avatar and notify the user. However as said it is impossible to police every single avatar so we rely on other users to bring it to our attention.
Here is an extract from point 32 in our T&C:
Offensive images in avatars which include pornography, nudity, obscene violence or any other content classified as prohibited or offensive will not be tolerated and will be removed by a moderator if found without any prior notice.
