Yes it is. An ex-work collegue got done for tyres too bald then also got fined for uninsured because it was then unregistered etc etc. The cops pulled about 4 fines out their ass.

They may be able revoke registration aswell - as shown in previous example.

Just raise your car. It'll saves you alot of hassals and fines in the future.

you have 28 days to fix it. if not they give u an extra 28 days whereby you are unable to drive the car. if you still havnt fixed it by then youre rego is cancelled/suspended.

my old crx got done for being to low and having wheels to big, when i argued, saying i can have big wheels as long as rolling diamter isnt 15mm bigger or 1 inch wider then stock, and my car is above the 100mm gc, the bugger give me 3 days to fix it and re rego checked, all they wrote was does not comply on the fine. thats was a thursday night (i wasnt cruising,i had soccer training), RTA's close noon saturdays so i didnt have long to get a rego check and gees pple work fridays! but thats one reason i sold it. to many coppers think your a hoon just becos of the type of car u drive.

You didn't need to get anything done to clear it. He's given you a void defect notice. Should've contested.
