I have done the rewiring as you described.
Found also the manuals for the older honda's (94-96) that seem to have the same wiring as the old one. (The two relays near the condensor) and the new manual (96-2000) and figured out the wiring and then confirmed it with your post.

I have also added the relays in the box under the hood but not sure where the diode and condensor fan fuse go. Will put up a picture tomorrow if you can help me with it.
