    NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition Round 1 Results. - 31/03/07

    Well what a fantastic day! The first round of NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition 2007 was a roaring success. A huge thank you to all the people who attended and made the day so enjoyable. Fhrx Studios installed cars picked up a total of ten trophies. As with any events throughout the year, there are a few items to run through regarding the day so without further ado, here they are:

    The Competition
    We had quite a number of audio enthusiasts competing in the various classes and while it might still be early stages yet, this years competition is looking like a close one which may go right down to the wire (no pun intended). This is due to many of the cars being tightly bunched together score wise. Speaking of scores and places; here are the results of today's round:

    * CAASQ Amateur Street Class
    * 1st: Antony Hughes (Holden Commodore)
    * 2nd: Daniel Hobson (Honda Civic)
    * 3rd: Jonathan Hadley (Holden HZ)

    * CAASQ Amateur Show Class
    * 1st: Peter Pain (Subaru WRX)
    * 2nd: Jack Horrocks (Daihatsu Sirion)
    * 3rd: Matthew Judge (Mistubishi Magna)

    * CAASQ Pro Street Class 1st:
    * Marty Price (Nissan 200SX)
    * 2nd: Paul Young (Mazda 3)
    * 3rd: Joel Cheesman (Nissan Pulsar)

    * CAASQ Pro Show Class 1st:
    * Edwin Low (Subaru WRX)
    * 2nd: Paul Con (Mitsubishi Lancer)
    * 3rd: Shane Dunn (Mitsubishi 380)

    * CAASQ Judges Choice Award Jonathan Hadley (Holden HZ)

    * CAASQ Encouragement Award Nathan Vlotis (Chrysler Valiant)

    Lunch and Charity
    As if you didn't already know, during the middle of the day there was a free sausage sizzle and soft drinks. However while the food and drink were free we did ask for a small donation that is going towards the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) in order to help those young among us that are not quite as fortunate. We're pleased to announce that a total of $158 was raised and has been transferred to the RIDBC. The receipt number will be posted up as soon as the transaction has cleared. Thanks to all that were king enough to open their wallets for a good cause.

    Thank You's
    First and foremost; thank you to everyone who attended and made the event possible. We also thank Car Audio Australia for their assistance and the judges that gave up their time to judge the SQ cars. Thanks to all those who got behind the lens (including two professional photographers). Thanks must also go out to Marty's wife Christie, sister-in-law Courtney and father-in-law Colin for taking care of lunch and assuring everyone had enough to eat and drink.

    Wanted to chuck this up for braging rights as i got second place in Amateur Street Class and only missed first by one point and i think thrid place wasnt far behind.
