Beneath the steering column is a handle. Pull it down to loosen the wheel, then pull/push (reach) or lift/lower (height) to your heart's content. Push the lever back up to fix the wheel in place.
And to reiterate what others have said above, the owner's manual is your friend. It's amazing how much you can learn about your car by reading through it. If you didn't get a manual with the car, contact your local dealer or the car's past owner - you should have it (not to mention the service book for service history, and the warranty papers).
