If you turn a corner fast, the car will slide like a front wheel drive, but if you keep accelerating & turning the rear wheels will start to work & the car comes out of its death slide, but in the wet this does not work well & you will keep sliding.
Brand of tyres will have a lot to do with it. I use Falken ZE329 215/60-16s. Recently it has been drenching wet here in Sydney and have no problem turning around corners with speed that would be considered a little fast in the dry.
It's worth to pay a little extra for good set of tyres.
