Thread: wingless DC2r ?

    wingless DC2r ?

    Hi,
I'm just abit bored and wondering if anyone's taken the wing off a DC2R ?
I personally think it might look good without the wing .. maybe abit sleeker and look abit lower at the back. anyone got any opinions ?

Does anyone know if it's easy to take off ... can you just unscrew it and put some plugs in to fill the hole or is it glued on? I wouldn't want to weld the holes as I would want to put it back on later if I ever sell it as it is a typeR thing.

i dunno about type r in particular but u should be able to just unscrew it from inside the boot and measure the holes then buy rubber plugs from bunnings. i think it looks better and plenty of people have done it but its a matter of opinion of course..

    Guess?
type-r wings are easy to take off. they are jus the same as taking vti-r wings off. open the bootlid and take the back plastic panel off and unscrew the nuts. you can buy the rubbers to fit in the holes at autobarn. its like $4 for 4.
    hope this helps

Will look like this... http://www.jdmyard.com/jdmyard_2006/...t/badhbt09.jpg <<< Which doesnt look to bad..

But i prefer with the spoiler has it give it the type R look... without the spoiler looks like the base model integra..

    Its a personal opinion anyways...

The wing is really easy to take off.
The four nuts on the inside are 9 or 10mm.

The plugs that you need are called Blanking Grommets.
You can get them from Clark rubber or Supercheap for around $4 for 4 (as xcon says).
The size you need is 3/8"

    I prefer the wingless look

i too prefer the wingless look

also note that once unsrewing the 4 bolts there is a double sided tape on the underside of where the screws used to be.
it is very sticky, so take my advice and grab a 2nd pair of hands to 'yank' the wing off

The wing serves a purpose, so you gotta think if you want the look or you want the down force..........depends on what you do with your car. I reckon it looks better with it on.
